From 24 to 28 November 2025, Samarkand once again drew the attention of the global scientific community. The international symposium “Medical Chemistry and Biomedical Materials Science – 2025,” held at Samarkand State Medical University, became one of the key events in the development of medicine and biomedicine.
The symposium was organized by the Scientific and Practical Center for Immunology, Allergology and Human Genomics under Samarkand State Medical University, in cooperation with the First Saint Petersburg State Medical University named after Academician I.P. Pavlov. Specialists from Uzbekistan, as well as from Russia, China, and the United Kingdom, took part in the event.
The choice of Samarkand State Medical University as the venue was not accidental. Thanks to the increased attention of the country’s leadership to education and scientific research, the university has created extensive opportunities for young scientists, researchers, and scholars. The scientific-practical center under the university consistently strengthens its cooperation with leading scientific and medical institutions abroad.
This annual symposium, traditionally hosted by the world’s leading universities, was warmly welcomed by the international scientific community in 2025 as it convened in Samarkand for the first time. The event impressed participants with its scale, organizational quality, and scientific depth.
At the opening ceremony, the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Jasur Rizaev, emphasized the importance of the symposium for advancing medical chemistry and biomedicine.
More than one hundred academicians, professors, and specialists participated, presenting reports on cutting-edge developments in modern medical chemistry, biomaterials, and genomics.
During the five days of the symposium, participants not only attended informative and scientifically significant lectures but also enjoyed Samarkand’s unique history, rich culture, and national traditions. Guests highly appreciated the city’s environment, where scientific progress harmoniously intertwines with spiritual heritage.
The main goal of the international symposium was to exchange advanced scientific experience, foster academic dialogue, and establish joint research initiatives.
